I'm Daniela, Italian and I have been living in Spain with my English husband for 6 years now. Before moving to Girona we lived in Seville where I worked as a professional chef. Andalusia's capital is unoffical home to the humble 'Tapa' and my experience there was a good grounding in understanding national tastes.

After a brief spell working in an aspiring restaurant in Girona I have hung up my chef's hat to concentrate on cooking at a more leisurely pace. I am an acredited sommelier with AIS (Associazione Italiana Sommelier) and a member of Slow Food.

My Italian background and especially the area where I grew up, sandwiched between Rome and Napoli, has given me a unique and I believe privileged outlook on food and it's

overlooked importance on our wellbeing.

I would define myself as a restless gastronome always seeking to further my knowledge and experiences with food and wine. I also run a food blog if you want to pay me a visit at http://campodifragole.blogspot.com

Within the realm of cooking my great passions are baking, pizza and pasta (of course!) but above all desserts. I would also confess to prefer fish over meat, tea to coffee and the country to the city.

My extensive travels all over Spain have let me sample the varied regional cuisines of the country and put me in a good position to combine all my experiences to offer a course of the best of Spain's regional gastronomy.
